As part of that center, let me chime in and AGREE LOUDLY.

But then, you can't really be surprised to find that no one side has any claim to being more mature or reasonable than the other.

Given the diverse and opposing positions from educated people on both sides, to accuse anyone of treason is ludicrous. I know I talked about my roommate last year- the PhD from MIT who teaches global warming as a college course, and who finds Al Gore's science a joke, and says that very few people are capable of really understanding the issues. She is hardly a "traitor to the planet", and has spent much of her career in the research of waste management.

Krugman diminishes his influence with that silliness.
