Now, I'm beginning to wonder about this suppression. What is the process by which EPA scientists get to publish things? I'm sure there is a review process to weed out the wacky things. Most scientific orgs have a review process like this. So if something doesn't make it through, is that suppression or is it culling the chaff from the wheat?

I know that if I let some of my employees get through to the execs with their wacky ideas, we'd all be fired. So my PMs review their analysts work, then my managers review their work, then I review their work, then I make my presentations. Isn't that just good process?

Having said all that, I'm convinced the EPA is a political organization first and a science org second. Bush proved that conclusively during his admin. I suspect it's no different now.
