The government invested heavily in our oil and gas infrastructure, has given hundreds of billions in subsidies and tax incentives, and continues to play an active role in securing our oil supplies globally.

MM.. I suppose you would still like to see our Naval ships powered by sails and our soldiers riding horses instead of tanks??

When you can use wind/solar electrical power to drive a ship, a tank, or have a solar/wind powered supersonic fighter bomber, then I'll be happy to see our government subsidize your alternative power ideas...

The TRUTH (HELLO!!) is that the US government subsidized and encouraged fossil fuel development because of geo-political MILITARY realities, including several world wars.

It was petroleum thirsty military technology that drove the government intervention in the oil industry.

And you should NEVER FORGET THAT, had it not been thus, we'd probably not be speaking English right now.
