Seems like the same "extremist Christian religious intolerance" also ushered Europe out of the Dark Ages.


Huh? It was mostly the doing of Islam. Islam flourished while Europe languished in darkness. Islam made significant inroads into Europe.........think Spain, Russia, Bosnia, Georgia etc. It was fighting the Muslim invasion that helped Europe come back to life.

Christianity kept the knowledge safe in its monasteries. That's about it. And then to offset that good by starting the Spanish Inquisition.
