So... you're willing to make major economic and environmental policy with ONLY 7% OF THE LATEST DATA??

That's INSANE!!

Back in the 1960s, the theory of continental drift became generally accepted after being proposed some 30 plus years ago. Far more research has been done on it since then than was done prior to that decade, and far more will be done over the next few decades. Should we say that the theory is unsettled because more research continues to be done?

Intensive work has been done by various disciplines within the scientific community over the past 30 years gathering evidence about whether or not climate change is happening; if it is, what are the possible causes of it; what are the implications of CC; and what can or should be done about. Research continues. It will continue for decades to come. AR4 said that they have very high confidence that climate change is happening and will continue to happen, and that the primary cause of this climate change is the carbon dioxide that are being put into the atmosphere by human activity. The data that has come in since then has not changed the level of that confidence in the great majority of scientists, as far as I know. It isn't like they woke up one morning or even one year and began making these recommendations--they have been studying and debating these issues for decades now.
