How naive..... The government sells billions of dollars in bonds to the SSA and you think the bonds are buried in a hole somewhere by the SSA and the cash the government received is put in a "lock box"?? lol! The bonds are a loan given to the feds by the SSA ..... The SSA will cash those bonds when needed to pay to retirees when it is needed.... In the meantime the feds used the cash received they way they always do....it was first put into the general fund during the Johnson admin.
Why would they let billions sit around doing nothing?
