Yes, I think it is fear of Sarah Palin's potential that makes the Dem elites so irrational and obsessed about her. Who else would get a 10,000 word hit piece in Vanity Fair 7 months after the campaign ended?

Here's a thought exercise, think about every one of Sarah Palin's attributes -- but alter her to make her a liberal Democrat all her life:

1. A true working class mama, from the people
2. Supermom - can have it all, career and family
3. Rose from PTA to Governor fighting corruption and the old boys network
4. Married to a minority, racially sensitive
5. Looks and charisma, great speech-maker, crowd pleaser
6. Popular pol who brings home the bacon

They would adore her, she's everything they would admire and look for in a candidate.

Which makes her the ultimate race & gender traitor, since she's not a liberal Democrat. And terrifies them lest she become a second Reagan.
