Hi Techie, I can confirm that the Microelectronics group at Lucent retained the right to make transceivers for Paradyne and others. Lucent has plenty of in-house DSP and algorithm expertise to do further developments on either CAP or DMT, and a number of the key management come from TI, so they understand how to run a merchant semiconductor business.

With regard to USRX, you may have seen their acquisition of Scorpio last week. At Telecom '95 in Geneva, when Orckit demo'd their VDSL product, it was mated to a Scorpio ATM switch. Intriguing, no?
