Really? What I'm reading is that they won't get to a vote until the fall. Anyway, is a month not long enough to read a document, form a conclusion, and debate? This debate has been going on for decades and reached its peak since Kyoto. Everything since then has been an ongoing rehash of the same old arguments. We can delay forever, but that won't mean the debate will become meaningful forever. I say put it to a vote and let the will of the people decide.

On something this far reaching, I'd be in favor of a national referendum instead of a Congressional vote. Too bad our politics don't allow for it. I think you'd be disappointed with the results, though. I think the consensus among the general population is move forward with it. In Congress, no consensus has been reached and there is a high probability this bill will fail in the Senate. So if you hate this bill, then you don't want a national referendum. Rather, you want it exactly where it is, in Congress where the moderate Dems hate it as much as the GOP.
