Total of seven banks on Thurs. would seem a worth wild story to report but only a few small newspapers picked it up on Thurs. after the news hit the DJ wire.

FDIC has 305 banks as of the last qt. on the Bad juju list. Of course that list is not available to the public. Treasury Dept. has funded the FDIC with $100B line of credit from the taxpayers so that makes out to be about 2 cents of reserves to cover each dollar it insures.

If rates start to go up, which they will, I don’t see that improving Banks balance sheets.

Anyone bullish on the Banking Sector?
