Folks are all over the map. Supporters hurt and disappointed, lefty bloggers euphoric, politicians in both parties faking indignation (while privately relieved). I expect that a couple of Senators will be announcing on Monday that they're running for governor. The ADN has some reactions from around Alaska...

IMO, Palin's governorship blew up last summer over TrooperGate. Firing the Public Safety Commissioner cost her tremendously, both politically and financially. She was already sliding off the rails before McCain picked her for VP. It's pretty hard for people from outside to understand this though.
