yes and no, perhaps. He spoke about his personal beliefs and his religion, which becomes irrelevant when you are elected by the people of the people for the people. So perhaps his private view is against gay marriage. but so what? it does give the impression to those who wish it that he would then be against it for the nation. but the best of leaders knows there is a difference between their private opinions and what they do on behalf of the people, by whose pleasure he serves.
