southern democrats were such because republicans were the original civil rights party. when the democrats came to be for civil rights in the 60's... ooopsies, gotta switch. but we can take back West Virginia if Obama visits and takes the problem of mountaintop cutting off seriously and connects with the people. Perhaps take Georgia next time around. And if things go okay... if we have someone decent running in '16, the south could turn even bluer.
