I agree with your comments about Reagan. He started us down the road of deficits don't count. I expected him to eliminate the Unified Budget but he not only dumped Volker and appointed Greenspan but he maintained the UB to help hide deficits. His deregulation of Telecom destroyed the greatest R and D Org. ever and caused the resultant surge in mal-investment, which made Clinton look good, an additional major negative.

FWIW, the worst of our present situation, in my view, is the fact that the financial part of our economy now accounts for nearlly 50 percent of corporate income. It was 16 percent when Reagan took the Presidency.
