Oh and btw, you're fooling yourself when you don't acknowledge that the country that takes the lead in new renewable energy technologies will be the leading economic powerhouse of the next century.

And guess what?? Because they can manufacture this stuff so cheaply there in China, they will STILL be selling it to us. I'm not so sure their own people will be able to afford it.

In fact, for your alternative energy views to predominate, we'll likely need to buy it from a cheap manufacturer.

And pretty soon China will be the biggest developer of Pebble Bed Reactors, despite recent issues with S. Africa's PBR program:

Also, China's a HUGE player in the international oil exploration industry....

Seems that China understands the concept of "Drill!, Drill!, Drill!" while it's developing it's other assets.

But they aren't stupid. If they find a technology is economically inefficient and they can't make a profit, they'll cease their activities and move on to something that does make money.

But it looks like they recognize they'll make a ton selling solar cells and wind turbine parts to the US...

But overall, I sympathize with your views on the economic distortions that have been created. How we unravel this problem is going to be tricky.
