You would prefer FIAT coming to the US and exporting their small cars to the US while the cars are made by Italians, rather than Toyotas and Hondas have plants in Kentucky etc.
I am not excited about Fiat buying Chrysler but its better than nothing. Many of those cars will be built in existing Chrysler plants in this country.
I am for American made products, but you prefer products made outside American borders. Are you an American citizen? If mso, why do you prefer that foreign labors do the job for GM and Chrysler?

As for Proposition 13, well, I am all for that. That is a good law. At first lawmakers were complaining that revenues would be cut. Yes, it was, but then the real estate boom in California produced a windfall in property taxes. Lawmakers then spent money like drunken sailors. Now, that real estate does not appreciate but rather decline in value, people asked for downward adjustment and receipts decline. No more caviars for those lawmakers, but rather have to get used to rice and beans.
A good manager should be able to adjust the operation during leans times. Seven years of abundance will have to adjust to seven years of lean times.
You have a good attitude. You should be able to adjust to the cutbacks that will happen shortly in CA. I hope you have a small arsenal in your home.......in fact, I am sure you do. You will need them. ;-)
Good thing it will take 2/3 to repeal Prop 13. Let it stand for eternity.
