but you were sure the surge in iraq would fail for similar reasons and of course you were wrong about that. I am afraid you might be right with afgan surge although i support it 100% and keep my fingers crossed at all times. The problem isnt afganistan or even pakistan---its the tribal areas and thats a tough nut.
