John, this was the same situation in October 1987. The market was closed to the retail investor on black monday unless you had a full-service guy hanging on the phone. You are pissing in the wind because Schwab actually does make heavy server investments and have a very good electronic ordering system but the number of clients is much greater than the total capacity, and on these days everybody wants to call!
