Old hat....

It was a "distributed peer-to-peer attack" wherein zombie co-opted computers (previously compromised by a virus which installed a remote backdoor enabling control over the 'bots') were directed in denial of service attacks against whoever and whatever was targeted.

That's the way it's done these days --- often for hire.

A few hours bother for a double dozen or so sites, the cyberattack broke no size records.....
