CNG prices are quoted in "gge" gasoline gallon equivalents. IOW 1 gge has the same energy content as 1 gallon of gasoline. 1 gge is about 125 cf if you want to do the math. So at the wellhead, the cost of 1 gge is actually about $0.50 at todays prices, and would be about $1 at $6mmbtu.

But the better resource is this google interface.

cngprices.com

You can see that even if gge prices doubled, they would still be competitive with gasoline. Additionaly, in some vehicles, efficiency on natgas improves 10-15%, to say nothing of the drastically reduced emissions, longer engine life, etc.

The more in depth calculation would be to look at the ROI based on fuel consumption and cost of conversion. The usual conclusions are that a small, lighly used vehicle doesn't have a good ROI, but large high mileage trucks/vans have a good roi.
