(Note: the VP never actually said anything like what the article's headline trumpeted.... :-)

Note the article's last sentence also: This past January, departing VP Dick Cheney sloughed off his administration's central role in accelerating the financial crisis and failure to head it off, claiming, "Nobody anywhere was smart enough to figure it out."

Celeste appears to be implying that the stimulus deployed thus far is FAR TOO SMALL to overcome the magnitude of the economic collapse in a timely manner... (which is what Krugman has argued all along.)
