We're going to see some increased violence as the US withdraws and this has been the concern about Obama's precipitous approach to withdrawal all along.

But there is nothing at this point to indicate it is spinning out of control, and that is good for America and good for Iraq.

The situation is fragile and probably will be for several months. And Obama's Iraq policy will be judged on whether he is able to pull this off without leaving Iraq to collapse in violence after inheriting a stable situation.

Frankly, I'm encouraged.
