Bush negotiated SOFA but would never have made the political commitment Obama has. Obama will have a very difficult time re-entering the cities if the need arises, whereas Bush could have done this because he hadn't made inappropriate commitments.

I think it is too early to tell. While we've seen an uptick in violence it was anticipated and the question is whether it develops into a pattern.

I believe it is reasonable to expect the ISF and IP can handle the situation.

I know you're dreaming that will happen, but the truth is that if Iraq proves to be stable over the next couple of years the Bush policy will have been a resounding success. OTOH, if it isn't, Obama blew it. Quite a problem for him.

Nothing is nice in Iran. The US thumbed its nose at them when they tried to remove the current government.
