>>A Vanity Fair author swears that on his trip to Alaska, people came up to him and, quite independently of one another, proclaimed that Palin was a narcissist. According to Todd Purdum, mirabile dictu, many have consulted the ol’ handy Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (which we all carry in our backpockets) and, presto, discovered that Palin has a ” pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy’ — and thought it fit her perfectly.”<<

Todd Purdum's claim about Alaskans checking the DSM is totally plausible to me. When Sarah started self-destructing last summer in late July, I actually looked up NPD myself. I'm not qualified to make such a diagnosis, but it sure rings true to me...

IMO, politics is like a drug for Sarah. She loves the adoring crowds cheering on the insurgent guerilla fighter, but once she actually gets elected the hangover sets in pretty fast. Those who want her to run for president are like pushers offering her a truckload of dope.
