I received a message today from ESA CEO Ed Burns.

When I last talked to him some months ago, he had been very busy scouting out business. At that time he said that he had been spending a lot of time in Houston getting to know people at several companies. As you can see by some recent posts, a number of Houston based companies are becoming active in the Marcellus Shale.

At that time, ESA business was slow due to uncertainty of the economy.

However that has all changed. ESA appears very busy. Ed Burns said that the "rest of 2009 will be fine". He said they were actively bidding on some large jobs and that 2010 should be "really good" particularly if they land some of these larger jobs.

Obviously he can't tell me the earnings report that will be coming our soon for 3d (April-June) quarter, but I hope it will be good. The next quarter should also be good. The winter 6 months are slow, but hopefully there should be some excellent earnings for 2010.

If this pans out, ESA is currently very cheap by any yardstick.

There does seem to be some political tailwind behind NG now. They will definitely need some infrastructure to get that NG to market.
