Pretty succinct. Why did Greenspan act in such a reckless way?

I mean, the guy wasn't stupid. He had written gold friendly articles early on in his career about its powers to resist statist control.

Actually, I think he got seduced by power. In Barcelona, Gaudi produced amazing works early in his career and was fiercely anti-clerical. Some of his early stuff is truly revolutionary in concept.

Later on in life, he chummed up to the Catholic Church, and his last (unfinished) work is the La Sagrada Familia, which I found kind of gross.
