You make the mistake of projecting your views that there is no free will.

Without free will, you have no say against any evil act committed, no matter how large or how small. The perpetrator is just a product of his or her genetics and environment.

That's the moral vacuum you avoid having to fill. Just an atheistic "faith" that one day it will be explained with science.
