Of course retribution for bad treatment towards Bill is only part of it. The hysterical attacks on her character are extremely distasteful and don't appeal to most Americans imo. There's attacking someone politically and then there is attacking someone personally. The personal attacks against Palin have gone way over the top. She could use them to her advantage in a very proper way if she was clever, but it would also be hard to dredge them up.
