The people in those countries must feel like so much produce being evaluated for market? Or pieces of meat being tested for purity. Or just another item among trillions (what big number comes after "trillions?") of other items that need attention. Self confidence must be at very low levels under these conditions? I could see people just saying the hell with it. I'm not going to have my dignity abused by this inhumane treatment. Dying would be preferable.

Or look at the statistics on magnetic resonance imaging, one of the most important new diagnostic techniques of the last couple of decades. "MRIs per capita in Canada are about half what they are in the United States," Sowell said. "In Britain they are about a fourth of what they are in the United States. In Canada you have to wait 10 weeks for an MRI. Ten weeks. A lot of things can happen to you in 10 weeks, and many of them are very bad."
