Iraq was stable because the US military patrolled their cities. That changed this week. The US military no longer patrols. So then, a logical person who doesn't have a book to press would question exactly how stable Iraq has been the last couple of years.

It has been reasonably stable for an occupied state. Violence was down, life was pretty normal for the people who lived there and they were reasonably happy with the situation.

This is all lost on you.

But there is a vast difference between SOFA under Bush versus under Obama. Under Bush, everyone knew that if violence spiked on June 30, Bush would've acted to stop it. Everyone knows, or at least has reason to believe, that Obama doesn't have the balls or intuition to do anything about it.

Bush was committed to seeing Iraq's freedom through. Simply put, Obama doesn't give a shit. It is a grossly incompetent position but it could not be clearer.
