1. Most likely. Adapters are needed in all 3 FC configurations, ie. point-to-point, arbitrated loop and finally switched fabric. With switch prices coming down so fast, dedicated bandwidth via a switch makes the switch architecture much more cost competitive with arbitrated loop, hence speeding up adoption of FC switches.

2. Re: DEC, I see Broke- Aid in DEC's future. As I mentioned before, OEM's who had an aggressive launch timetable to meet ( eg Sequent ) could not wait for Ancor's MKII/Optimized Class 2/3 to become available. DEC probably also falls into this category. BTW, this is strictly my own speculation ( DEC/Broke-Aid ) based on what I have recently heard in the Industry. I have no specific facts on this matter.
