"Image" mavens who don't seem to care about the economy, (or the well being of their fellow Americans), at all. All that matters to them is the political game of oneupsmanship.... Deflation is rearing it's ugly head around the world (in developed nations), the Federal authorities (monetary policy from the Fed and, to a much lesser extent, fiscal policy from the elected politicians) have done most all that is politically possible in these polarized times... and yet the CREDIT CONTRACTION and the withdrawal of liquidity - the life-blood of our modern economy - raging through our economy still vastly exceeds all the counter measures that government has been capable of thus far.... And yet all these politicians can think of is how to shoot the nation in the other foot onroute to them gaining some temporary and destructive advantage that cannot last in the face of a greater disaster... like children arguing whether 'wicker' or 'slats' make for better deck chairs on the Titanic instead of manning life rafts. What fools....
