I spoke with a person who spent ~6 months under Antarctica and his comments were that the ice berg were melting from underneath.

Ok.. see where you corrected your statement.

And listen.. if it's melting from the bottom up, that's seems indicative that the ocean is warmer than the open air above when it should be the opposite if GW is correct.

Any non-frozen source of water is going to cause ice to melt.
