This summer has been the coolest it's been in the 8 years I've lived in this state. I believe it has to do with no sunspots. Even though it's been cool, the temperatures still rank in the top 10% over the last 100 years. That tells me that there's another variable in play that is keeping temperatures warm. So we're going to have to see a lot more cooling before that breaks the long term trend. My guess is that now that sunspots are showing up again, it's going to start getting hot again.
