We don't have to go into the historical reasons why Windows dominates the market, do we?

Even if Apple had a lineup that included every single price point and configuration currently offered by Dell, I don't believe they would then be able to expand their market share to the same size as Dell's. Not unless they sold computers with Windows preinstalled.

Just maybe, if they did sell computers with Windows preinstalled, and at all of Dell's price points, they could expand their market significantly. But at what cost to their current business and their brand?
