The surest sign of Chavez's failure

By Thomas P.M. Barnett

ARTICLE: "Venezuela's Brain Drain," by Mac Margolis, Newsweek, missed the issue date. Link

Tens of thousands leaving: artists, lawyers, physicians, managers, engineers . . . one million in all. "The exodus is sabotaging the country's future . . .." No, Chavez does that all on his own--as he prefers. Classic example: Chavez installs a Marxist professor with no industry experience as the head of the national oil company. Guess how well that has worked. So Hondurans said, "f--k off" by booting Zelaya. Good for them. One out of every three Bolivians under 30 are planning to leave the country, rather than to stay under Chavez protégé Morales. This is why I don't sweat Chavez. Please.
