Retire? You have Saturday evenings free? Though they are rather a lot of work. Ish knows of that. I don't know what part of the country you live in. Here in Alabama they feed themselves most the year in the pasture... that requires seeding when needed, and fertelize once a year, and some bushhogging (which is fun if you like tractors). Then getting hay and putting it up, another amusing thing but does take time. Four was a lot of work. especially as they started dying. I now just have a cat who will live another year or two, and a dog who is 9. I think that will do it for me. It gets too hard. Pills took weeks to pass when his time came, so it was sitting up in the barn with him thru the day and night... if I have a horse again, I want it to outlive me. smile.
