I'm just wondering if the "powers that be" think they can convert the CDS markets into a replacement for regulated insurance companies. There's a reason that insurance companies were regulated in the first place, since they provide the essential risk mitigation for any economic transaction. The Rug has been pulled out of the insurance industry and therefore it's no wonder banks are hesitant to lend. Hawk
