Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced a $2.9 million contract with the Orlando Utilities Commission to provide a suite of dispatch consoles, control stations and portable and mobile radios for a new radio system utilizing Orange County's existing Motorola Smartzone(TM) interoperable network. By using the existing county network infrastructure, OUC, one of Florida's largest municipal utilities, will reduce costs while improving communications with a fully interoperable system. finance.yahoo.com
