There needs to be some lines drawn that "the street" doesn't want to see. Why should people or entities--who don't have any relationship to the underlying equity--be able to buy/sell CDSs? Why should insurance be issued to those who are only gambling, who are NOT offsetting risk?

Even Little Timmy G stood before Congress and stated that they should not outlaw "naked" CDS buying/selling. For what purpose would he do this other then to shill for "the street"? There are enough areas available to those who want to gamble, imo. They do not need to be part of "naked CDS buying and selling".
