1) I'd support a shift to coal instead of oil, because that would solve our oil dependency issues, which is my number 1 issue. However, I think NG or other renewable solutions are better ideas.

2) I have posted plenty of new technologies that are in the pipeline that could eventually replace lithium. But you don't have to believe the articles I posted. Just look them up yourself or look at the history of the battery. There has been plenty of change and technological improvement of batteries is not accelerating now that huge new battery industries are springing up in Asia and in the US. The technology is improving rapidly. You'd be a fool to bet against progress in battery tech.
