RE: Guys like me couldn't even get quotes most of the day I have an acocunt a Schwabb. The telebroker was operating normally all morning, and I was able to get quotes during the wild trading. I refrained from trading today, but I know others who were able to get buys placed during the opening (also Schwabb accounts). In contrast, I know a few with ETrade and a few other cheap brokers who were unable to get trades or quotes all morning. I think that this will open the eyes of a lot of people as to what to look for in a broker. With thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on the line, trying to save $50 in commissions seems a little foolish.
