Well... well... well...

Look who else has lost whatever "moral standing" they thought they had:

Isn't it nice to know your country isn't trying to climb the heights of lawless oligarchy all by itself! <Hoo><Haa><Haa>

Hmmmm...

Let me see $700M "earned" since 2002... 10 to 12 years behind bars... that's $700M over 20 years... and apparently $300M returned... That still leaves about $400M over 20 years or $20M/year.

Oh yeah... no question... give the average American the power to burn $400M of someone else's cash over 8 years... in exchange for 12 years of their freedom?

Don't even bother to ask... just start writing the checks.

It would appear that the real "crime" in Bank Robbery is the inability to steal enough. <Haa><Hooo><pHooie>

Face it peeps. The End Is NOT Near...

It was near... around 1972-73.

But that's when Nixon & Co. demonstrated... at least to Cheney & The Family's satisfaction... that when the "Unitary President" decides to go rogue and ignore state law and your privacy, there really is no crime... and thus there can certainly be no punishment.

Reagan, North and Poindexter extended this power principal in every direction... most notibly to acts of Congress, treaties and treason.

Clinton confirmed that it applied with equal force to "Unitary Broker/Bankers" and to fraud both in and out of government... at least as long as the fraud was obvious and a bonafide whopper anyway.

And of course... among the Bushies numerous other accomplishments... they made it quite clear that the modern "Unitary President" needs neither constitution, law, nor treaty to export our immaculate self-deception to all points of the globe via acts previously criminalized as unwarranted and aggressive war, terror, and torture.

And now... having sunk to depths previously reserved by oligarchies, dictators and tyrants... we have finally arrived at: The Beginning of The Denial Of The End stage of degradation.

The End will... someday... be pinpointed as having arrived on the day that Jimmy Carter's morality failed to rub off on the rest of us... and the "smart" money decided that they could laugh at him with impunity.

But history will record that The End became irreversible on August 11, 1987... the day that Reagan first appointed Alan Greenspan to the Fed Chair.
