I believe that you have to react to opportunity when it presents itself.
Use whatever tools necessary to overcome short term adversity and turn it into a profitable situation. I like being fluid in my investments and using different stratagies for long or short term gain depending on the general trend of the market. If the market is in a trading range per say, my play is usually in credit spreads on the OEX for short term potential about 3 weeks or less to experation. If the market is trending up I like long term calls on oversold and beatup stocks with a glimmer of future hope and the possibilty of exercising into a good position. When the market starts to feel toppy I like to put on a position of IBM puts, which to me gives a good and very liquid position of protection on a downturn. For my longer term plays, I like to average down if I am on the wrong side of the trend and have a real good feeling for the stock,such as AGTI. I sat here today and couldn't act on getting any more AGTI as I had a margin problem from Monday. Sitting on a bunch of TPRO that I didn't want to lose,had to scramble and readjust. I started buying AGTI this time at .19,.18,.16 and will look to increase, IMO this is a good company and deserves a reallocation of some of my portfolio for additional purchase at these price levels, but I will keep buying if it goes lower, will just be bying more. If you sit pat sometimes it works, but sometimes there is greener grass in the next yard and it deserves a good mowing IMO.

Starting to ramble, its been a long day.
