RE: "Usually that means first standing behind your amp and, second, maybe moving around the stage relative to the monitors to find the sweet spot."

I usually either plug into a direct box that runs into the sound board or into an amp turned very very low with a direct out into the sound board. In one band, we all have in-ear monitors, so feed back isn't a concern at all. In the other band, I have a monitor in front of me, but it's run at a volume where feedback doesn't come into the equation. Unfortunately, the monitor doesn't sound very good.

I've got an old Ovation that I don't use too much anymore and a Takamine. I'm looking to step up in playability and sound quality.

Best wishes,

I2
