insuring the uninsured will ease the system from an ER point of view.
Of course, I agree... but, obama's pipe dream will never happen, 70% of the voters are very satisfied with their current health care coverage, he's not going to risk pissing off 70% for only 30%, he would have to be nuts, and he can't pay for it either... there's an old saying, if it works don't fix it... all you have to do is look at Canada or Great Britain to see what kind of health care those people get, they get nothing and wait on waiting lists for months and years before being seen by their physician, and the system is bankrupt... With Medicare alone, there is $80 billion dollars of fraud and waste every year, do you want to create yet another government agency that would easily create an additional $100 billion in waste and fraud each year?
Solution:
All the government has to do is allow people to shop for health care across State lines and you would see a major drop in health care insurance costs, it would eliminate the in State monopolies, it would be affordable to everyone, and you would see the insurance companies competing for everyone's business with low cost plans... not a penny of tax payer money would be spent... competition works, and the health care business is no different... allow the free market to work instead of creating yet another mammoth government agency that will piss away everyone's hard earned money in waste and fraud and which will eventually go bankrupt anyhow...
