So? The status of this recession has been very fluid. As late as last fall, some economists believed we would stay out of recession. By winter that had changed to a recession......a bad one. Nonetheless, GM and Chrysler were saying they could get by without BK. By Feb/March we were talking depression. In April Chrysler began to take steps towards BK; followed not long after by GM. Conditions were and continue to be very fluid. The takeaway from those charts is that without the stimulus things would have been much worse. I know that there is absolutely no reason for you or Harris to believe that........that it makes good partisan sense to hold Obama to that original chart but the reality is Obama was handed a truly fukked up mess. Why do you think Bush stays so quiet? He knows. Obama is doing far better than most in dealing with this mess and for that I will be eternally grateful.
