The most distraught individuals have been those people that have not made recent visits to the cemetery. They all feel guilty that they have been inattentive. Burr Oak has historically been a "black" cemetery. The one blessing in this matter is that everyone involved is black, including the owner. Racial politics in Illinois can be ugly, and this crime is so horrific to the imagination that it does not need any additional tinder. Lawsuits have already been filed and the politicians have been posturing.
