"So think a little deeper. It's a multi-level issue. What are we borrowing the money for, how much are we borrowing, can the economy handle it, will the borrowing result in long term benefits that overcome the short term costs and are there some societal benefits that may justify costs that will never be recouped by future savings? "

How about you think a little deeper - like past 2010. The stimulus was to be timely, targeted and temporary. It is not. The problem major problem is not 2009 or even 2010 - the problem is the ongoing trillions in the out years. It is a lot like borrowing for college for a $50k job, borrowing for a new car upon graduation, borrowing for a new house, borrowing for new furniture - and then blaming government for defaulting.

Yes - deeper thought is appropriate. Think past 2010 and show serious thought!
