Are you arguing captured terrorists can only be asked their name, rank and serial number?

doesn't mean you can violate international agreements of warfare

------------------------------------

I am sure congress is informed that drones are being used to pursue AQ

Well they can read about it in the newspaper, but I don't think they're being briefed either before hand or after. It doesn't matter since the President is Democrat. Its only Republican efforts to defend the country that Democrats want to criminalize.

-----------------------------------

...but then the fundamental issue is not that is it? It is in fact that the VP, a member of the executive branch, is mucking around telling the intel community to keep in the dark another branch of gov with the legal right to be briefed...

If you think so, then George Tenet should be held responsible because he was the guy running the CIA at the time.

-----------------------------------

They have established a legal procedural end game...the president retains the right to set aside a verdict

Where does the President get the right to set aside court verdicts? He can pardon people, but thats all the constitution gives him the right to do. What the Obama adm is planning on doing is holding people indefinately when there is no legal reason to do so.

Now since we're talking about foreign terrorists, I think he should have the right but thats not the position liberal Democrats said Bush had.
